Overview
If you've installed the Corporate or Workgroup option of Microsoft Outlook®, this Microsoft LDAP Directory information service enables you to search for e-mail addresses on a Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) directory server in Outlook.
After you add the Microsoft LDAP Directory service to your profile, Outlook 98 can search for e-mail addresses on an LDAP directory on the Internet, such as Bigfoot or 411 , or on your intranet. You can then add the addresses it finds to your Personal Address Book. You can also have Outlook check addresses you type in the To, Cc, and Bcc text box of your messages and verify them against those on the LDAP directories you specified.
Note If you've installed the Internet-Only option of Outlook 98, the LDAP directory service is built in to Outlook, so you don't need to install this service.
