This component update installs the Windows Media® Player 10 components, enabling you build Windows XP Embedded runtimes that include Windows Media® Player 10. There is also support for localization of Windows Media® Player 10. This component update also disables the Windows Media® Player 8 Technologies component by setting it to end of life (for more information on end of life components, please read the Windows XP Embedded help documents on End of Life components). IMPORTANT: If you install this feature update, Windows Media® Player 8 Technologies component will no longer be available, and configurations that include it will not build without upgrading to Windows Media® Player 10.
