Exchange Server 2003 Help has been updated. This update includes additional topics that were not included on the product CD.

Exchange Help is designed to assist you in day-to-day administration of Exchange. Use this documentation to guide you through Exchange features, tasks, and administration procedures. Exchange Help augments Exchange Server 2003 online articles, books, and release notes. It provides all the important conceptual and procedural information you need after you deploy Exchange.

This download contains the Exchange Server 2003 Documentation Update Tool, which will assist you in updating an earlier version of Exchange Help. The tool allows you to either update your existing documentation or install a new copy of the documentation.

Using the Documentation Update Tool is easy. Simply download and run the tool. If you install the tool on an existing Exchange 2003 server, it will give you the option of either updating your existing Help files or installing the new Help version, while retaining the earlier Help version. If you install the tool on a computer that does not have Exchange installed, you can choose where to install Exchange Help.

Exchange 2003 Online Help Update is a collection of HTML Help documents and requires Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0 or later. You can download Internet 5.0 or later from the Internet Explorer Web site.

Additional Information

The Online Help updates may be installed unattended by using the following scenarios:

1. Install standalone (install to the default directory--c:\program files\microsoft exchange server 2003 help\1033\(-this is the default for English)):
msiexec /i exhelpupdate.msi /qn PROP_UPDATE=2

2. Install standalone (install to a specified directory):
msiexec /i exhelpupdate.msi /qn PROP_UPDATE=2 INSTALLDIR="C:\anypath"

Where C:\anypath is the location where you want to install the standalone online help files.

3. Upgrade the exchange help for the installed product. If the admin tools are not installed or do not match the language of the MSI file, the MSI will install standalone to the default directory (c:\program files\microsoft\exchange server 2003 help\1033\(this is the default for English)):
msiexec /i exhelpupdate.msi /qn PROP_UPDATE=1
or
msiexec /i exhelpupdate.msi /qn
