Exclusively for Microsoft developers – download 500 professionally recorded speech files now – at no charge! GM Voices off-the-shelf Standard Vocabularies enable Microsoft Speech Application SDK (SASDK) developers to create higher quality, more natural sounding applications. The Standard Vocabularies consist of 500+ number, date, navigation and error messages (“your current balance is four hundred seventy-two dollars and thirty-four cents.”) These speech files are delivered ready to use in the Microsoft voice prompt engine.

While the Standard vocabularies provide the basic building blocks of a successful speech application, you can create a more robust and dynamic interface using the Expanded Vocabularies, consisting of approximately 3,000 voice prompts for only $295. In addition to initially providing 6 times the number of prompts for only $295, choosing to upgrade to the Expanded Vocabularies provides you access, at no additional charge, to all future additions and enhancements to the Expanded Vocabularies. These two vocabularies integrate seamlessly and comprise the majority of voice prompts required for any serious corporate speech application.

Using GM Voices proprietary "In-Context" recording method, these libraries provide a rich, natural and believable sound for your speech application. Inflection, pacing and prompt sentence placements are all taken into account during recording. This also allows for custom updates to be consistent with the Standard and Expanded vocabularies.

Instructions


  • Select the link to download and save the self extracting executable file, GMVoices PromptDB.EXE.

  • Double click the file to begin the extraction and follow the instructions of the extraction utility. To complete the extraction, the conditions of the EULA must be accepted, and a target location for the extracted files will need to be specified.

  • Once extraction is complete, three files will need additional extraction: Greg Sheffield Standard 8kHz 16bit.zip, Kim Evans Standard 8kHz 16bit.zip, and Laura Brooks Standard 8kHz 16 bit.zip. With each of these files, right click, choose Extract all…, and then follow the steps of the Extraction Wizard. Note: A different target location should be chosen for each zip file (.zip).

  • Each GM Voices personality includes a Microsoft Visual Studio Solution file (.sln) that can be opened for a quick start. Additionally, there is a Prompt Project file (.prproj) that can be included in an existing solution using the Speech Application SDK.
