Overview
"Oslo" is the code name for the Microsoft's next generation application development platform. The goal of "Oslo" is to provide a 10x productivity gain across the application lifecycle (design, development, and management). "Oslo" leverages domain-specific models, languages and tools to achieve this goal.
The SDK contains documentation, samples, copies of the “Oslo” models written in "M", and tools designed to help you write your own models in "M", including the code name “Intellipad” tool for code name “Oslo”.
Note: The January 2009 CTP was "refreshed" in March 2009. The new version includes a fix for three-pane grammar mode in Intellipad. No other changes have been made. See the release notes for more information.
Uninstalling previous versions of the CTP
To install the new CTP, you need to uninstall the October CTP by doing the following:
Go to Add/Remove Programs and uninstall
Microsoft Codename "Oslo" SDK CTP Setup Temporary Files
Microsoft Codename "Oslo" Repository
Microsoft Codename "Oslo" SDK
Drop your existing Repository database
Download the latest CTP from here
To optimize the experience, we strongly recommend that you install the latest updates and patches from Microsoft Update before you begin installing the SDK.
Install the following prerequisites:
Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 is required to run any executables.
Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 is required to compile and execute code samples.
Microsoft Excel 2007 with .NET Programmability Support enabled is required to install and run the "M" Add-In for Excel.
Run the MSI for the SDK and follow the instructions.
