Overview

The Microsoft ASP.NET 3.5 Extensions Preview CTP shipped in Dec of 2007 and included a client library to facilitate access to ADO.NET Data Services from applications built using the .NET Framework.

This add-on extends that CTP by introducing a version of the client library that can run inside the Microsoft Silverlight 1.1 environment. Like the .NET Framework version, this library also allows developers to execute queries asynchronously, providing a more natural interaction model for a web-centric application.

Instructions

Download the self-extracting archive file and extract the Microsoft.Data.WebClient.dll assembly from it. The assembly can be used as a "user assembly"; simply add a reference to it from your Silverlight project in Visual Studio. The use of the API is identical to the existing (.NET) client library, as documented in the "Using ADO.NET Data Services" document.
