- Windows Server® 2003 Standard Edition, Enterprise Edition, Datacenter Edition, or Web Edition with Service Pack 2 or later operating system
- RAM:
- Stand-alone installations: 2 GB of RAM; 4 GB of RAM or more recommended
- Farm installations: 2 GB of RAM; 4 GB of RAM or more recommended for Microsoft SQL Server® and application server hosts, more than 2 GB for Web front-end servers

InstructionsTo install this download:
- Download the file by clicking the Download button (above) and saving the file to your hard disk.
- Double-click the SearchServerTrial.exe program file on your hard disk to start the Microsoft Search Server 2008 Trial splash screen.
- From the splash screen, you can follow the link to read the installation instructions.
These installation instructions are also available online.
To uninstall this download:
- On the Start menu, point to Settings and then click Control Panel.
- Double-click Add/Remove Programs.
- In the list of currently installed programs, select Microsoft Search Server 2008 Trial and then click Remove or Add/Remove. If a dialog box appears, follow the instructions to remove the program.
- Click Yes or OK to confirm that you want to remove the program.
