Overview

This DirectX SDK release contains updates to tools, utilities, samples, Documentation, and runtime debug files for x64 and x86 platforms. This release also include a public pre-release of Microsoft Cross-Platform Audio Creation tool and Managed Direct Code for Beta 2 (2.0 CLR).

It also continues to include the DirectX 9.0c Runtime and Redistributable.

  • Using Managed DirectX ( MDX ) requires both Visual Studio .NET and the .NET framework for development. To run MDX .NET applications, you must install the .NET Framework.

    • To save the download to your computer for installation at a later time, click Save.

Additional Information

Primary areas of concentration for update have been with the Direct3D Extension Library (D3DX), Graphics Samples, Tools and documentation. The included developer runtimes and the DirectX Redistributable have also been updated to include the latest updates (DirectX 9.0c).


10/12/2005 Slipstream release of the October SDK for Improperly-signed .NET 1.1 runtime assemblies

 Who this affects : If a developer has already downloaded the October 2005 DirectX SDK and does not have the 1.1 .Net runtime installed on their system before installing the SDK they will encounter a fail to install due to a signing issue.

Work-around: There is no need to download the October 2005 DirectX SDK again. Install the .NET 1.1 runtime from here, then reinstall the October 2005 DirectX SDK.
