Project Server 2003 Service Pack 1 (SP1) provides the latest updates to Microsoft® Office Project Server 2003.
Project Server 2003 SP1 also includes stability improvements developed as a result of user input from the Microsoft Online Crash Analysis in Project Server 2003 and from Microsoft Product Support feedback.
To install when using an Project Server 2003 Multilingual User Interface Pack
For complete Project Server 2003 SP1 functionality if you are using a Project Server 2003 Multilingual User Interface Pack (MUI), you will need to install both of the following:
It is advised that you back up your database before applying any updates.
Note: You must follow the steps below for each SQL Server and database.
Download the SQL patch, ProjectServer2003-KB837241-SQLFile-ENU.exe.
Double-click on the file to extract the files to a temporary folder.
To apply the files, Osql.exe is required in the same directory from where Upgdb111.cmd is run or in the system path. If you are running Upgdb111.cmd directly on the machine where the database resides, this file should already be present. It is also available on the Project Server CD in the \support\database folder.
Run Upgdb111.cmd against the Project Server database. If the database is a partitioned database, run the script against each of the Project Server databases. Run Upgdb111.cmd from a command line with the following parameters. To run from a command line, click Start > Run and type cmd in the dialog box and click OK.
Upgdb111.cmd <sql server name> <database name> <login> <password>
OR if using Windows authentication to SQL Server as the currently logged in user:
Upgdb111.cmd <sql server name> <database name>
Note: By leaving off the system administrator account login and password, the command file will assume Windows authentication to SQL Server. If you supply only the SQL Server name, it is assumed the database name is ProjectServer.
Install the Project Server service pack
Download the ProjectServer2003-KB837241-FullFile-ENU.exe (or equivalent language file) to the Project Server machine.
Install the service pack by double-clicking on the file and following instructions. If Project Server is distributed over multiple machines, this update must be installed on every machine with Project Server installed.
Update the Project template files on Windows® SharePoint® Services.
If you are using Windows SharePoint Services (WSS) 2.0 with Project Server, you will also want to update the Project Server template files on every server running WSS.
