Instructions


Installation instructions
If you have Visio 2003 MUI, do one of the following:

  • Use Office Update on the Office Online Web site (recommended). Office Update automatically detects the applicable product and prompts you to install updates and service packs that bring the programs up-to-date.


  • Install Update for Visio 2003 Multilingual User Interface Pack: French Spelling Checker and Thesaurus (KB892293). To do this, follow these steps:
    1. Download the .exe file by clicking on the Download button at the top of the page, and then save the file to your hard disk drive.
      • visio2003mui-kb892293-fullfile-fra.exe: You might need to provide the installation source during patch installation if you have previously updated your product.
    2. It is recommended that you quit any programs you are running.

    3. In Windows Explorer, double-click the .exe file that you saved to your hard disk drive, and follow the instructions on the screen.


The download for this update is available by clicking on the Download button at the top of the page. You can double-click the executable package to begin installation, or extract the patch files (MSP files) by using a command line. Additional Information

An optional add-on is available for download to allow users specify one of three ways to use the new French Spelling Checker. With this add-on, users can select one of the three spelling reform settings described below:

  • Traditional Spelling: the new spellings are not recognized at all and are flagged as incorrect.


  • New Spelling: the new spellings are recognized while the pre-reform spellings are flagged as incorrect.


  • Traditional and New Spellings: both pre- and post-reform spellings are recognized as correct


If you install Update for Visio 2003 Multilingual User Interface Pack: French Spelling Checker and Thesaurus (KB892293) without installing the add-on, your default setting will be Traditional and New Spellings.
