Overview

Note: This patch also addresses the DTD processing issue described in KB article 826231.

When users navigate to a SharePoint site, temporary files are left on the Web server's hard disk. Over time, these temporary files will take up more and more server disk space. These temporary files will eventually affect the server performance. This fix prevents the temp files from building up on the server and causing performance issues.
In order to fix the .NET Framework version 1.1 you must apply this patch. This patch will protect companies and administrators who run SharePoint servers with Office 2003 from this potential vulnerability.
