Instructions

If you want to use the Schema Deriver, which derives an XDR schema from an XML data file, MSXML 3.0 is required. To install this DLL, search for Msxml3.dll at the Microsoft Web site. The shipping version is required, not the beta version. This DLL must be installed in side-by-side mode with Msxml2.dll, which is the standard mode, rather than in Replace mode. Msxml2.dll is automatically installed as part of the Connectivity Tools for SQL Server installation. If you do not have the proper version of Msxml3.dll installed, the following error message appears when you use the Deriver command: "Failed to instantiate a class object from Msxml3.dll. The correct version of this DLL is missing or not registered properly. Schema derivation operation cancelled."
