System Requirements

Supported Operating Systems: Windows 2000; Windows 98; Windows Server 2003; Windows XP

Note Running a local copy of the SQL Server 2000 Books Online is not supported on the Microsoft Windows Server 2008 or Windows Vista operating systems. However, if you need to view the SQL Server 2000 documentation on a computer that is running one of these operating systems, you can use the copy in the MSDN Library online or the MSDN Library CD. For more information about running SQL Server 2000 on these operating systems, see Running SQL Server on "Microsoft Windows Server Longhorn" or Microsoft Windows Vista.

SQL Server 2000 Books Online (Updated) is a collection of HTML Help documents that requires Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0 or later. It is highly recommended that you install Internet Explorer 6.0 SP1 (Internet Explorer 6.0 can be downloaded from http://microsoft.com/ie).
It is strongly recommended that all operating systems have the latest service packs and other updates installed, to ensure that the software will install and run correctly. Go to the Windows Update site to check for recommended updates.

SQL Server 2000 Books Online (Updated) is primarily intended for use on 32-bit operating systems. When you install it on 64-bit operating systems, we recommend that you install it as a separate product rather than overwriting any existing versions of Books Online.
