Overview

The Securing Wireless LANs with Certificate Services solution is aimed at organizations wanting to deploy wireless LAN technology (WLAN) while having a high degree of confidence in its security. It has been written as a prescriptive guide (covering design, deployment, and management) and is based on Microsoft's own WLAN security deployment. The solution is suitable for organizations of several hundred to many thousands of wireless network users.
The solution provides full lifecycle guidance for designing, implementing and operating a wireless security solution built with 802.1X and WLAN encryption, RADIUS and a Public Key Infrastructure (PKI). Business Planners and IT Architects receive a discussion of wireless networking vulnerabilities and assessment of the different security options available, followed by a detailed design of the overall solution and its various components. IT Implementers and Operations Managers receive step–by–step instructions and automation scripts to deploy and manage the wireless security implementation.
