SMS 2003 SP1 Hotfix: When a computer name of an SMS 2003 SP1 Advanced Client is changed, a resync or a full inventory is submitted (KB903933)
Brief Description
If the computer name of a Microsoft Systems Management Server (SMS) 2003 SP1 Advanced Client is changed, the delta hardware inventory that is created following the rename will be rejected. This causes a resync, or a full inventory to be submitted.

If the computer name of a Microsoft Systems Management Server (SMS) 2003 SP1 Advanced Client is changed, the delta hardware inventory that is created following the rename will be rejected. This causes a resync, or a full inventory to be submitted.
Additionally, all inventory history for the previous computer name will be removed from the SMS site database.
Note Current inventory information for the new computer name is retained. Only the inventory history is removed.
