Overview
The Turkish Lira Currency Symbol Converter Tool is designed to update the current Turkish monetary symbol (TL) to the New Turkish Lira symbol (YTL). While the tool will update the currency symbol as soon as it is run, the Turkish government will officially change from the current Turkish Lira to the New Turkish Lira symbol on January 1st, 2005. Therefore, we suggest you run this tool after December 31st, 2004. This tool works on Windows 98, Windows NT 4 (client and server editions), Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows 2000 (client and server editions), Windows XP, and Windows Server 2003. The currency converter tool works for those users who have their user locale ("Standards and Formats" on Windows XP) set to the Turkish locale.

Instructions
The liraconv.exe accepts the following parameters at the command line:

Prototype: liraconv.exe
Function: New Turkish Lira conversion for the current user; if the user is the system administrator, the default and system accounts are also updated if their locale is 0x041f.
/?
Prototype: liraconv.exe /?
Function: Show usage.
/[h/H]
Prototype: liraconv.exe /h
Function: Show usage.
/[s|S]
Prototype: liraconv.exe /s
Function: Convert the currency for the current user silently (no dialog). Use of this flag implies acceptance of the EULA.
The tool expects both the EULA and readme.txt files to be present in the same directory as the binary.
Note that if there are any errors in the command line parameters, no changes are made, and the usage dialog box is presented to the user. Unrecognized parameters will also trigger a usage dialog box and no action will be taken.
Note that if you are running this tool based on Windows 98/ME and you change your user locale from Turkish to any other locale, the currency symbol will remain “YTL” in the new locale. To correct this, use the Regional Options Control Panel to change the currency symbol to the appropriate one for the new locale.
