Overview

The POS Connector for Microsoft Office Small Business Accounting 2006 allows small business retailers to connect Small Business Accounting to Microsoft Point of Sale.

Microsoft Office Small Business Accounting 2006 combined with Microsoft Point of Sale creates an integrated retail solution that connects the point of sale to accounting. Retailers can send all the sales details of the day from Microsoft Point of Sale to Microsoft Office Small Business Accounting, without retyping data and without errors. Small Business Accounting can use the information to run financial reports, helping retailers manage cash flow and improve profitability.

This version of POS Connector includes updates to the existing release. Please download and review the ReadMePOS.txt file for more information.

System Requirements

  • Supported Operating Systems: Windows XP Service Pack 2

  • This download requires the following programs:
    • Microsoft® Office Small Business Accounting 2006
    • Microsoft® Point of Sale 1.0 Service Pack 1

  • Hardware requirements:
    • An Intel Pentium 450-MHz or faster processor with at least 256 MB of RAM
    • At least 280 MB of available free space on your disk
    • Super VGA (800X600) or higher monitor resolution

Instructions

To install this download:
  1. Download the file by clicking the POSConnectorSBA.EXE link later on this page.
  2. Double-click the POSConnectorSBA.EXE program file on your hard disk to start the Setup program.
  3. Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the installation.
NOTE: If you are installing a new version of the POS Connector, you must first remove and uninstall the previous version. Please see the steps to remove and uninstall POS Connector in this section below.

To remove and uninstall this download:
Before uninstalling the download, you must first remove POS Connector from Microsoft Office Small Business Accounting.

  1. In Small Business Accounting, choose Utilities from the File menu and click Add-in Manager….
  2. In the Small Business Accounting Add-in Manager window, select POS Connector.
  3. Click Remove and then select OK.
  4. Click OK on the following dialog stating to restart Small Business Accounting and close Small Business Accounting.
You may now uninstall the download with the following steps.

  1. On the Start menu, point to Settings and then click Control Panel.
  2. Double-click Add/Remove Programs.
  3. In the list of currently installed programs, select POS Connector for Microsoft Office Small Business Accounting and then click Remove or Add/Remove. If a dialog box appears, follow the instructions to remove the program.
  4. Click Yes or OK to confirm that you want to remove the program.
To remove the download file itself, delete the file POSConnectorSBA.EXE.
