If you have installed or plan to install Microsoft Silverlight Tools Beta 1 for Visual Studio 2008, please skip installing the Silverlight SDK directly. Silverlight 2 SDK Beta 1 is installed by Microsoft Silverlight Tools Beta1. For more on that click here.
