Overview
The Multiple Master Presentations converter allows a Microsoft PowerPoint®
97 user to open a PowerPoint 2002 presentation that contains multiple slide
masters (uses more than one design template) and was saved in PowerPoint
2000.
If the PowerPoint 2002 presentation was saved in PowerPoint
2000 SR-1, you do not need the Multiple Master Presentations converter to
open the presentation in PowerPoint 97.
If you receive the following error message in PowerPoint 97 when you open
a PowerPoint 2002 presentation, you need to install the Multiple Master
Presentations converter to open the presentation:
This file was created by a later version of Microsoft PowerPoint. To
open this file you need a converter that you can download from the Web
site. After downloading the converter, please restart Microsoft PowerPoint
and reopen the file.

The ability to create a presentation that uses more than one design
template is new in PowerPoint 2002. Using the Multiple Master Presentations
converter with PowerPoint 97 only allows you to open a presentation
that uses more than one design template; it does not allow you to create a
presentation that uses multiple design templates in PowerPoint 97.

To install this download

- Double-click the ppmm.exe program file on your hard disk to
start the setup program.
- Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the installation.
Instructions for use:
After the converter is installed, you can open the PowerPoint 2002
presentation that contains multiple slide masters as you normally would in
PowerPoint 97.
Note You cannot use the Multiple Master Presentations converter to
open a read-only presentation file.
