Overview
This guide covers the requirements needed to prepare your SMS 2003 environment to install and use the SMS 2003 Inventory Tool for Microsoft Updates. This guide does not cover installation and use of the inventory tool, which is covered in the Microsoft Systems Management Server 2003 Inventory Tool for Microsoft Updates Deployment Guide. This guide assumes that you have already deployed SMS 2003 with Service Pack 1 and that you have SMS 2003 SP1 clients deployed and configured to use the Advertised Programs Client Agent and the Hardware Inventory Client Agent. It also assumes that you understand SMS software distribution.
