Instructions

  • In order to run FrontPage Server Extensions 2002 on x64 Bit Windows operating systems it is required that Internet Information Services be configured to run in 32 bit emulation mode. To configure IIS for 32 bit emulation mode follow these steps:
    1. Open a command prompt and navigate to <drive:\> inetpub\adminscripts where <drive:\> is the location where Windows is installed.
    2. Run the following command:
      adsutil.vbs set w3svc/AppPools/Enable32bitAppOnWin64 1

    3. Run IISRESET to restart IIS

  • Install FrontPage Server Extensions 2002 for Windows x64. To do this, follow these steps:
    1. Download the .exe file by clicking on the Download button at the top of the page, and then save the file to your hard disk drive.
    2. It is recommended that you quit any programs you are running.

    3. In Windows Explorer, double-click the .exe file that you saved to your hard disk drive, and follow the instructions on the screen.
    4. If you have only the Default Web Site and have not created any new virtual servers Default Web Site will automatically be extended. If you have more than one IIS virtual server you will need to use HTML Administration pages or the command line to extend virtual servers with the FrontPage Server Extensions 2002.
