OverviewMicrosoft SQL Server Migration Assistant (SSMA) for Access is a tool for migrating databases from Microsoft Access to Microsoft SQL Server 2005. SSMA for Access converts Access database objects to SQL Server database objects, loads those objects into SQL Server, and then migrates data from Access to SQL Server.
SSMA for Access supports Access 97 - Access 2003 databases. System Requirements
Requirements for the SSMA for Access: • Microsoft Windows Installer 3.1 or a later version. • The Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 or a later version. The .NET Framework 2.0 is available on the SQL Server 2005 product disc, and from the Developer Center Web site. • The J# 2.0 redistributable package, which is also available from the Developer Center Web site. • The ability to access the computer that hosts the target instance of SQL Server 2005. • At least 1 GB RAM. InstructionsSSMA for Access is installed by running a Windows Installer package. When you download the package, you will be prompted to either run it immediately or save it the package to your computer.
• If you choose Run, you will be prompted to specify the location to install SSMA for Access. • If you choose Save, a Save As dialog box opens. You can save the .msi file to the computer, and then run it to install SSMA for Access. When Setup begins, follow the instructions to install SSMA for Access. The default installation location is C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server Migration Assistant for Access. However, the product requires a license key for activation. The key can be obtained after quick and simple registration.
