Developers who have installed Windows XP Service Pack 2 on their development machines should download both these updates to ensure optimal performance of their development environment on Windows XP Service Pack 2.

  • Supported Operating Systems: Windows 2000 Service Pack 4; Windows XP Service Pack 2
  • eMbedded Visual C++ 4.0 Service Pack 4

  • Smartphone 2003 SDK

Instructions

  1. Click the Download link to start the download, or choose a different language from the drop-down list and click Go.

  2. Do one of the following:

    • To start the installation immediately, click Open or Run this program from its current location.

    • To copy the download to your computer for installation at a later time, click Save or Save this program to disk.

  3. When you run the download, it will ask you to choose a location to install. Choose the Tools directory in your Smartphone 2003 SDK. By default this is c:\program files\Windows CE Tools\wce420\Smartphone 2003\Tools

  4. When prompted to overwrite the existing file, click Yes




You may now use the SPDPS utility to set up a new Smartphone so that you can deploy and debug applications on it. Note : Your mobile operator may have configured your phone in a way that prevents you deploying and debugging applications, if this is the case, please contact your operator to see if they have a program to enable development on your phone.
