Overview
Commerce Server 2009 (formerly known as Commerce Server 2007 code name “Mojave”) delivers the ability to increase your business reach by making it possible to sell via multiple channels using an out-of-the-box shopping site, SharePoint Commerce Services, and the Multi-Channel Commerce Foundation. The new out-of-the-box shopping site leverages SharePoint Commerce Services, which provides a gallery of ASP.NET 3.5 Web Parts, a comprehensive e-commerce shopping feature-set, and technology integration between Commerce Server and SharePoint technologies. The Multi-Channel Commerce Foundation provides a new unified, extensible run-time programming model for Commerce Server, including new run-time e-commerce capabilities. The December CTP adds the following capabilities over previous Commerce Server 2007 code name “Mojave” releases:
- Update package from Commerce Server 2007, allowing for seamless in-place upgrade of existing deployments.
- Complete out-of-the-box e-commerce shopping site in SharePoint with new search functionality, new shopping features, and what-you-see-is-what-you-get (WYSIWYG) content management and design experiences. This helps to facilitate rapid assembly and maintenance of e-commerce Web sites by business users and creative professionals.
Important We invite you to install this pre-release version of Commerce Server 2009 into a non-production environment, preferably on a clean machine, to learn more about the run-time Multi-Channel Commerce Foundation and the SharePoint Commerce Services. This release is for evaluation purposes only and is not intended to be used in a production environment.

System Requirements
- Supported Operating Systems: Windows Server 2003; Windows Server 2008
Single-server deployments are supported, which consists of running all the Commerce Server 2009 components and software requirements (including Microsoft Windows and Microsoft SQL Server) on a single computer. The single-server deployment uses the following software products:
- Microsoft Windows Server 2008, Microsoft Windows Server 2003 with SP2, or Microsoft Windows Server 2003 R2 with SP2, and Microsoft Windows critical updates
- IIS 6.0 with Microsoft Windows Server 2003 or IIS 7.0 with Microsoft Windows Server 2008
- Microsoft Commerce Server 2007 already installed (any version)
- Microsoft SQL Server 2005 SP2 Standard and Enterprise (32-bit or 64-bit) or Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Standard and Enterprise (32-bit or 64-bit)
- Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 with SP1
- Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 (WSS) SP1 or Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 (MOSS) SP1

Instructions
The download is an .iso package used to create DVD images. Click the Download button on this page to start the download of the .iso image.
This is pre-release software and is best installed on a clean machine. Thus, please take note of the following:
- For installation instructions, an up-to-date ReadMe file, and the latest documentation, go to the Microsoft Connect site at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=129508.
- You must UNINSTALL all previous Commerce Server CTP versions. Leveraging a clean system that has never had a previous version of a Commerce Server CTP installed upon it is strongly recommended.
- The Commerce Server 2009 product documentation will automatically be installed as part of setup and will replace the existing Commerce Server 2007 documentation set. Once installed, you can review the documentation by going to Start>All Programs>Microsoft Commerce Server 2009>Documentation>Commerce Server Documentation.
- CTPs are for evaluation purposes only and are intended only for short-term use in a test environment. This CTP will not function after June 2009.
