Microsoft Dynamics Client for Microsoft Office uses familiar Microsoft Office desktop productivity tools, such as Microsoft Office Excel, Microsoft Office Outlook, and Microsoft Office Word, which means less of a learning curve for your people. This reduces the time required for training and frees up time to focus on what matters most.

Microsoft Dynamics Client for Microsoft Office provides your employees with direct access to the most relevant, business-critical information available—including data on customers, costs, orders, and schedules—through Microsoft Office productivity tools. Standardize and automate processes. Microsoft Dynamics Client for Microsoft Office can embed common tasks within Microsoft Office applications, circumventing delays that can occur while waiting for employees to complete steps manually. Access to several applications in one package

Designed to work together to provide a complete, enterprise-ready solution, the self-service applications accessible through Microsoft Dynamics Client for Microsoft Office can be grouped into one of four categories.

Microsoft Dynamics Portals: Provides RoleTailored access to Microsoft Dynamics information and processes through a Web browser. Microsoft Dynamics Portals are designed for specific roles in your company, so they contain RoleTailored information that is based on an employee's tasks and work needs. This technology integrates seamlessly with Microsoft Dynamics applications and can be used by employees across the organization.

Microsoft Dynamics Snap: Built to plug into Microsoft Office products, Snap applications can be modified to provide your employees with access to Microsoft Dynamics information without leaving Microsoft Office applications.

Note

Currently, Microsoft Dynamics Snap applications are only available for Microsoft Dynamics AX as part of the Microsoft Dynamics Client for Microsoft Office package.

Microsoft FRx WebPort and DrillDown Viewer: These add-on modules for Microsoft FRx give managers immediate access to financial reports for their department and provide drill-down capability to capture supporting detail if they need it.

Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007: Give employees access to the business productivity capabilities of Microsoft Office SharePoint Server, combined with access to the information and functionality of Microsoft Dynamics programs, to facilitate collaboration on projects, assignments, or cross-group workloads.

Build business-specific extensions

Microsoft Dynamics Client for Microsoft Office provides you with some of the technology necessary to extend the packaged applications—or to create your own—based on the source code of the Microsoft Dynamics Snap applications and the workflow and Web site creation capabilities that are a part of Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007.

The new package has been priced to facilitate companywide deployment. Rather than a full-access license for Microsoft Dynamics programs, you can purchase either:

Both partial-access licensing choices for Microsoft Dynamics are a cost-effective solution for granting your employees access to Microsoft Dynamics data.

Microsoft Dynamics Client for Microsoft Office is currently available to Microsoft Dynamics Business Ready Licensing Advanced Management customers. This licensing package for new customers will be offered with:
