How do I register for Convergence?
Visit the registration page to register online for the event, as well as reserve a hotel room at special negotiated prices.
How do I access my Authorized Phone Number in order to register?
If you do not know your authorized phone number, you can find it by accessing the Voice System. Please note that you will need to log into your Microsoft Live ID to access the system. For additional assistance, please contact email@example.com.
How can I go back and change my registration?
You may review your registration and make changes or updates by accessing Registration Returning Services and logging in by entering your Windows Live™ ID or username and password. You may do any of the following via the update your registration link:
- Make a change to your registration information
- View and print your current confirmation information
- Create or edit hotel reservations
- Cancel your registration
- View and print a copy of your current invoice or receipt
What does my registration include?
Full conference registration includes access to all keynotes, sessions, meals, expo, networking opportunities and ancillary events. For specific access for Day Passes, Guest/Companion passes, Expo Only passes and Convergence Reception Only passes, please see pass descriptions on the Registration page.
Are spouses and/or kids allowed to attend conference activities?
The event and all related conference activities are for registered attendees only. Guest/Companion passes are available for purchase for guests that are 21 years old and older. No children or infants are allowed at any conference-sponsored activities or receptions. If child care is needed, please check with your hotel.
What hours will registration be open onsite?
Registration will be located at the Georgia World Congress Center in the Registration Hall between buildings A and B. Registration will open starting Sunday, April 10 at 11:30am. Registration hours are available on the Attendee Information page.
Where can I find an overall Convergence agenda?
A high-level agenda with conference times and activities can be found on the Agenda page.
How can I find specific session information?
The Convergence Session Catalog can be found on the Sessions page. The Session Catalog includes a listing of Keynote Sessions, General Sessions, Concurrent Sessions, Deep Dive Sessions, Interactive Discussions, User Group Sessions and Hands-on Lab listings, and allows attendees to search on sessions by a variety of different tags (such as track, level, audience, etc.). Registered attendees can access Schedule Builder, which allows you to build your own personal session schedule (note: you will need to sign-in using the username & password you created during the registration process, or your Windows Live ID).
Will session presentations be available after the show?
Yes, PPTs as well as video and audio from specific sessions will be available on the Convergence website.
Will there be a Partner Briefing this year?
Similar to last year, the Convergence Partner Briefing will be delivered in a virtual format prior to the start of the Convergence event. The virtual format will allow for greater viewing opportunities and more time for partners to be prepared to help share the information more effectively with customers. Is there an easy way to find other attendees that may have like interests or businesses?
Yes, Convergence Connect is a structured networking tool that makes it easy to connect and network with your fellow colleagues at Convergence 2011. With Convergence Connect you can share information about yourself and your background, identify others with whom you’d like to meet, communicate and collaborate with other attendees in a secure and private environment, and schedule meetings that will take place during the conference. Tables will be available within the Community & Learning Center (CLC) for scheduled meetings.
Is there available space at any nearby hotels to hold side meetings?
At this point there is limited space available at nearby hotels. The Omni and Embassy Suites do not have any space available; however the Hilton Garden Inn and the Westin still have space available. Please contact them directly to request space.
Is there an opportunity to earn CPE credits for my attendance?
We have a CPE Tracking form for Convergence 2011 available for download. Please note: Microsoft cannot guarantee compliance with the official requirements of the NASBA or individual State Accountancy Boards and will not be held responsible for any CPE credits that are not awarded due to our inactive sponsorship with the NASBA (National Association of State Boards of Accountancy). What meals will be provided at Convergence?
Conference meals include breakfast and lunch and will be served in the Attendee Meal Hall located in Building B, Halls 3-4, over the dates of April 11-13. If you have pre-ordered a Kosher, Halal or other specific meal, you may pick it up at the designated Special Meal Buffet which is located in the center of the Hall. A light grab & go lunch will be available on April 10 within the Community & Learning Center. Food & beverage will also be provided at the Convergence Reception and the Expo Reception.
Will there be shuttle transportation available?
Complimentary conference shuttle transportation will run in the morning and in the afternoon between Convergence hotels and the Georgia World Congress Center. Shuttle transportation will also be provided from Convergence hotels to the Georgia Aquarium and World of Coca-Cola for the Convergence Reception. The following hotels within the Convergence hotel block are within walking distance, with no shuttle service provided: Omni at CNN Center, Embassy Suites and Hilton Garden Inn. Will there be airport transportation available?
Airport transportation is the responsibility of each attendee. However, please note that Convergence will be offering special non-stop airport service from the Georgia World Congress Center to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport on Wednesday, April 13 between 12:00-6:00pm. Cost is $15 and attendees can make reservations with the Airport Transportation Kiosk within the Registration Hall starting Tuesday, April 12.
Will wireless connectivity be available?
A wireless network will be available in Building A, Hall A1, within the Community and Learning Center and at the various Convergence Meeting Points located throughout the Georgia World Congress Center. Convergence asks you to ensure your machine is updated with all appropriate patches, antivirus software, and that an internet connection firewall is enabled. Machines that are not up to date may lose access to the network. A Windows update can be run at www.update.microsoft.com.
Will business services be available?
Yes, the FedEx/Kinko’s Business Center is located in the GWCC Registration Foyer between buildings A and B. The Center offers volume and self service copying, fax service, computer stations, shipping and packaging, along with other business services.
Will luggage check be available?
Although Convergence recommends leaving personal belongings at your hotel, Convergence will offer limited luggage check during the event within posted conference hours. Laptops and coats/jackets will not be accepted. Convergence luggage check is free to attendees. Visit the Attendee Information page for detailed information.
Convergence also offers Airport BAGS, a full-service, multi-airline remote skycap operation that offers issuance of boarding pass and luggage receipts for domestic flights. Luggage must be checked in a minimum of three hours before your flight departure time. This service will be available for attendees departing Tuesday, April 13 only, and luggage check fees apply.
Can I use my pager, cell phone or camera?
Yes, but we do ask that you be considerate of other attendees. Please turn your cell phone and pager to the silent mode while you are in sessions and do not use cell phones in the session rooms. Out of respect for our presenters, we ask that no flash photography, video and/or audio recorders, or laser pointers be used during any session.
Will there be a first aid station?
For routine medical assistance, there is a first aid station at the Convention Center. This station is open during conference hours only. The first aid room will be located in Building B, by the entrance to the Expo Hall at the B1-2 entrance.
Will there be a location where I can meditate/pray?
Convergence has set aside a room dedicated for this purpose, and will be available during conference hours. Location is in Building A, room 308b.
Will there be a private location available for nursing mothers?
There is a private area within the First Aid station located in Building B, by the entrance to the Expo Hall at the B1-2 entrance. Power is also available within this space.
Is smoking permitted in the facilities?
Smoking is not allowed throughout the Convention Center. Please utilize designated smoking areas outside the facilities.
Is there recommended dress attire while attending Convergence?
Business casual is appropriate attire while attending sessions at Convergence. Please note that inside the convention center it can be cool in the meeting rooms; please plan to bring a sweater or jacket for your personal comfort level. Casual evening attire is appropriate for the Convergence Reception (note that a small portion of the venue is outside so it is recommended to dress accordingly as temperatures can be cool).
