Kirill Tatarinov

KIRILL TATARINOV

Kirill Tatarinov is the corporate vice president of Microsoft Business Solutions (MBS) at Microsoft Corp. and oversees the MBS business, with responsibility for sales and marketing, R&D and operations. MBS develops and markets the line of Microsoft Dynamics products that manage financial, customer relationship and supply chain management functions for organizations of all sizes.

Before heading MBS, Tatarinov led the Management and Solutions Division at Microsoft, where he was in charge of the Microsoft Windows management technologies and products, including Microsoft System Center, Systems Management Server, Microsoft Operations Manager and Microsoft Application Center, as well as Windows Server® solutions, including Microsoft Small Business Server.

Tatarinov joined Microsoft in 2002 with 15 years of experience in the software industry. Before joining Microsoft, Tatarinov was senior vice president and chief technology officer for BMC Software Inc. While at BMC he also had responsibility for corporate development and for Patrol Software business. Before that, Tatarinov was co-founder, chief architect, and head of research and development for Patrol Software, the developer of innovative software solutions for systems and network management acquired by BMC in 1994. Before co-founding Patrol Software, Tatarinov worked in several systems, networking and consulting companies in Russia, Israel and Australia.

In January 2002, Computerworld named Tatarinov one of the business world’s 2002 Premier 100 IT Leaders. This award honors individuals who have had a positive impact on their organizations through the use of technology.

Tatarinov grew up in Moscow, Russia, and holds a master’s diploma in systems engineering from Moscow University of Transport Engineering (MIIT) and an MBA from Houston Baptist University. He serves on the board of the U.S. Fund for UNICEF, Texas Chapter, whose mission is to help the world’s children. Tatarinov lives in the Seattle area with his family. Outside work, he spends his time skiing and is a Level-1 ski instructor, certified by the Professional Ski Instructors of America.

  
Kevin Schofield

KEVIN SCHOFIELD

Kevin Schofield is General Manager for Microsoft Research. His organization drives technical strategy and business priorities for Microsoft’s research efforts. He is also responsible for developing Microsoft Research’s relationships with customers, press, analysts, and Microsoft’s own product groups. Mr. Schofield joined Microsoft in 1988, and has worked in Microsoft Research since 1997. Over the course of his tenure at Microsoft, he worked in both development and program management for a number of Microsoft product efforts, including networking, operating systems, MSN, and multimedia authoring tools. He is a Magna cum Laude graduate of Dartmouth College with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science.

Mr. Schofield has been deeply involved with the Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) research field for a number of years. He has volunteered for many years with ACM’s Special Interest Group on Computer-Human Interaction (SIGCHI), and previously served as Chair of SIGCHI and co-chair of the “CHI 96” Conference on Human Factors in Computing Systems. He serves on the advisory board of the Computer Science Teachers Association (CSTA), the Board of Directors of the Friends of the University of Washington Libraries, the Development Advisory Board of the University of Washington Friday Harbor Labs, and the Leadership Council of the Princeton University School of Engineering and Applied Science. He is the co-author of three issued patents and several pending ones.

Mr. Schofield lives in Bellevue, Washington with his two daughters.

Chris Caren

CHRIS CAREN

Chris Caren is General Manager of Microsoft Business Solutions (MBS) at Microsoft Corp., overseeing the marketing efforts for the division. Prior to joining MBS, Chris was General Manager for the Office Business Applications group where he led sales, marketing and partners for Microsoft Business Intelligence and Duet (a joint product with SAP).

Chris joined Microsoft in 2005 from Business Objects, where he was Vice President of Product and Corporate Marketing. Previous experience includes Vice President of Product Marketing at Manugistics, head of sales and marketing at an Oracle financial applications company, and a leadership position at Accenture. Chris holds an MBA with distinction from Kellogg Business School, and a bachelor of science in engineering from Stanford University.
