Empower people with familiar software in Microsoft Dynamics GP
Microsoft Dynamics GP 10.0 adds familiarity to the user interface
You value your people and understand they drive business success. Microsoft Dynamics GP ensures your people have the best software tools to accomplish your company's goals without requiring extensive training or time spent learning a new interface. Microsoft Dynamics works like other Microsoft products you and your people are familiar with, helping reduce the time required to learn how to use it, and freeing up time to focus on what matters most.

Maintain a familiar look and feel
Microsoft Dynamics GP 10.0 adopted the look and feel of the 2007 Microsoft Office system with new styling and intuitive navigation. Microsoft Dynamics GP has also adopted the concept of ribbons from the 2007 Microsoft Office release to create Action Panes.
| • | Looks like Microsoft Office Outlook 2007: Perhaps no other productivity program is as ubiquitous or as helpful to information workers as the Microsoft Office Outlook e-mail client. Microsoft Dynamics GP borrows the paneled interface and folders-based organization of Office Outlook to offer people a seamless experience no matter which program they are using.

| • | Introduces the Action Pane: The Action Pane in Microsoft Dynamics GP 10.0 gives people an easy way of accomplishing frequently used processes. With the Action Pane, people can perform tasks against multiple records without having to navigate through different windows and programs. The Action Pane is an intuitive, graphical command bar that appears across all navigation lists and shows commands relevant to the data contained in the list. For example, Action Panes simplify reporting by only showing the print-report options that pertain to the lists in view. |
| • | Takes full advantage of Microsoft Office Excel: Your people rely on Office Excel everyday to report and analyze information from across all areas of your business. In Microsoft Dynamics GP 10.0 you can create Excel PivotTables from Microsoft Dynamics GP data or use one of the more than 200 Office Excel templates that come out of the box. |
| • | Links Microsoft Office system applications to Microsoft Dynamics GP data: With smart tags, your people can quickly pull up information on customers, vendors, inventory, and general ledger accounts from Microsoft Office Word, Office Excel, and Office Outlook. Use the Letter Writing Assistant to create letters to customers or employees using the Office Word merge functionality. |
| • | Sends business forms through Office Outlook: Microsoft Dynamics GP works with Office Outlook so you can send business forms from within your business-management solution, such as customer statements and invoices through e-mail.

Minimize implementation costs
Avoid issues that often accompany software implementations by providing your people with familiar software aimed at maximizing their abilities. Microsoft Dynamics GP 10.0 includes features such as Action Panes, list-based navigation, look-up windows, and drill-back and inquiry tools. All these features simplify how people interact with and learn to use the system, thus reducing the time it takes your people to become productive using the new software.
Microsoft Dynamics GP 10.0 also includes tools that help your information technology (IT) department get the system up and running quickly and easily. Process-based checklists make installation easier with prompts and prerequisite checks for Microsoft Dynamics GP, Microsoft Business Portal, and Windows SharePoint Services. Additional deployment wizards are available to assist in implementing key functionality in a streamlined way.
Tailor your experience with RoleTailored design
Business-management software should reflect the way people actually work and be tailored to fit the variety of individual needs in any company. The Microsoft Dynamics research and development team spent four years trying to get a holistic understanding of how people get work done. This research, reflected in the Microsoft Dynamics Customer Model, helps Microsoft's global development teams create software environments designed around the specific work people do.

Microsoft Dynamics GP 10.0 incorporates RoleTailored design in the following ways:
| • | Microsoft Dynamics GP 10.0 provides people with 21 customizable Role Centers, templates that map Microsoft Dynamics GP design to specific roles within the company. This gives your people the information views and access to the tasks that are most relevant to their responsibilities. |
| • | Personalized report navigation allows easy access to the reporting options people use most often. Users can select from a wide variety of financial reports on the Microsoft Dynamics GP Report List—including new Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services reports—customize them as needed, and then store them for one-click access in the future. |
| • | The new security model in Microsoft Dynamics GP 10.0 takes into account people's roles and enables more manageable auditing and reporting—all while delivering stronger security at the same time. |
