Adding hardware to a register

1  Choose a compatible device

Using the Hardware Compatibility List

1  To open the HCL, click here.

The list will open in a new browser window so you can continue to refer to these instructions.

2  Select the type of device you want.

For MICR devices, click Check Reader. For MSR devices, click Card Reader. For pole display devices, click Line Display.

3  Locate the device using one of these methods:

• Click the link near the top of the list for the manufacturer of the device you are interested in.

• Use your browser's Find feature to search the list for a specific model number.

For example, in Internet Explorer and other browsers, you can press ctrl+f, and then type the model number.

• Use the scroll bar to browse the entire list.

4  Read the information provided for the device.

Under the manufacturer name in bold type, you can find details about the specific device, such as:

Model - The model number of the device

Description - A brief name or overview for the device

Dependencies - Software or hardware required for this device to work properly

OPOS Version - The version number of the OPOS control for the device  Learn more about OPOS

Tested By - The company or organization that tested the device

Test Date - The date the device was tested and added to the list
