The Administration Console that is installed as part of Windows Essential Business Server 2008 (EBS 2008) provides a unified view of all the infrastructure components that are deployed by EBS 2008. It has been designed to provide a dashboard view of all IT components and allows IT administrators to quickly view the configuration, execution, and historical performance of their workloads.
Through the console, IT administrators can also manage common tasks, e.g. adding users, managing groups, and resolving critical alerts for all applications in their environment through the installation of Microsoft and third-party “Add-Ins”.

Windows Essential Business Server is designed for easy integration of Microsoft Dynamics business applications. Through the Microsoft Dynamics Administration Console Add-In, the most commonly used tasks in Microsoft Dynamics are available within the Windows Essential Business Server console. From one console, view, deploy, manage and administer your Microsoft Dynamics application.
The Windows SharePoint Services Essential Business Server Add-In provides a dashboard view of all SharePoint sites hosted by the Windows Essential Business Server 2008 management server. This add-in allows administrators the ability to see a consolidated view of information about each site. This information is normally scattered across multiple SharePoint pages and is not aggregated by default (like quota sizes, site collection information, administrator/contributor/visitor names). Additionally, the add-in also allows administrators to manage users using Active Directory and smart wizards to create sites and site collections.

The Data Protection Manager 2007 Add-In for System Management Server 2007 provides a dashboard view of all the data sources managed by the Data Protection Manager server. This add-in provides the status and summarizes the activity of the previous day as details for each item. Using this information, administrators can determine which backups need assistance and which ones have succeeded. It also allows you to perform common troubleshooting tasks.
The Microsoft SQL Server Add-In enables administrators to centralize Microsoft SQL Servers basic administrative tasks into Windows Essential Business Server 2008 Administration Console and provides a dashboard view of all supported Microsoft SQL Servers within a domain. The add-in presents the health status of each instance and space related information for databases, and simplifies alert monitoring for the Microsoft SQL Servers within current domain, and provides easy access to common tasks to maintain the instances and databases.
