The licensing models are similar in that they consist of a server license and incremental Client Access Licenses (CALs). Customers purchase CALs—Windows Essential Business Server 2008 CAL Suite or Windows Essential Business Server 2008 CAL Suite for Premium Users or Devices—for each user or device that is accessing the Windows Essential Business Server network.
Microsoft offers several flexible licensing options to allow for complete scalability of your cost in relation to your usage, including various CAL quantities to suit your specific needs and the ability to purchase Windows Essential Business Server 2008 CAL Suite for Premium Users or Devices for only those users or devices accessing the ‘premium’ features.
