The Open Programs have three options for customers who are seeking an easy flexible way to acquire licenses from a broad network of resellers. All Open Programs offer discounts over full retail prices and provide convenient licensing management through Microsoft Licensing secure Web sites. Corporate, government, academic, and charity customers with five or more desktop PCs can acquire licenses through the Open Program.

Windows Essential Business Server 2008 is available through all the Open Programs.

Government

Microsoft offers several Volume Licensing options for eligible government organizations that want to buy licenses at the special pricing. The eligibility requirements depend on your locale. To learn about eligibility for government organizations worldwide, review the eligibility definitions for your region. In the United States, offerings are available for state, local, regional, and federal government agencies.

Windows Essential Business Server 2008 is available through all the Open Programs for Government.

Academic

Microsoft offers Academic licensing programs designed specifically for eligible academic organizations with options for subscription or transactional licensing.

Windows Essential Business Server 2008 is available through the Open License for Academic program.

Charity

Charity is available in select countries. Please check your local Microsoft office to find out if Charity Open program is available.
