Microsoft Education Consortia program membership guidelines

Updated: December 5, 2005

Microsoft is committed to building relationships with education consortia organizations. For this reason, Microsoft has recently taken important steps to strengthen its collaboration efforts and support for these organizations through the Microsoft Education Consortia program. This program helps consortia serve their member academic volume licensing needs through a special relationship with Microsoft. While the mission of consortia organizations can vary, Microsoft looks for common characteristics for consideration of program membership.

Qualification criteria include, but are not limited to, the following:

All institution members fit the criteria of a qualified educational user and are located within a single state

Organization represents stakeholders of a common institution type

Organization exists for reasons other than to solely create an aggregated buying agreement

Organization has an established mechanism for regular and proactive communications to all members

If your organization would like to learn more about the program, and possibly be considered for inclusion, send an e-mail message to cemgroup@microsoft.com. Be sure to include your contact information and a brief overview of your organization as well as your goals for joining this program.
