Objective

Use the Form tool in the Microsoft Office Excel spreadsheet to set up a pop-up window into which all of your students can enter their data. Here's how:

Create data sets with Excel

1.

Open Excel, and then open a new worksheet.

2.

Decide what fields or categories you want for your data, and then enter them in the first row of your worksheet.

3.

Highlight all the fields (not the entire row), and then click the Data menu. Click Form. The Form tool opens with the complete names of the fields you entered in the form.

4.

Have each student enter his or her information, and then click Next to bring up a blank form for the next student.

5.

When finished, click Close.

6.

Save the spreadsheet.
