Software

MSDN Academic Alliance
The MSDN Academic Alliance is the easiest and most inexpensive way for academic departments to make the latest Microsoft software available in labs, classrooms, and on student PCs. A department receives an MSDNAA subscription that includes Microsoft platform, servers, and developer tools software. This software may be installed on any number of departmental lab machines.

DreamSpark
DreamSpark is about giving students direct access to Microsoft professional tools at no charge. In addition to software this site provides links to training resources such as labs and product videos.

What about software direct from Faculty Connection?

Software direct to Faculty from Faculty Connection has been discontinued at this time. At Microsoft, we want to ensure compliance with all applicable government gift and ethics rules, which restrict/prohibit government employees (Federal, State, Local, Military, and Education) from accepting gifts from entities doing or seeking official business with the public sector. What is considered a "gift" varies widely, but generally includes business-use giveaway items, free business-use software or other items of value. To comply with these regulations we have had to remove the ability to provide software directly to faculty from Faculty Connection.
