Research Project on Gesture Recognition using Microsoft Kinect Sensor Developed by Students of Dayalbagh Educational Institute, Dayalbagh, Agra
The under-graduate students of the Dayalbagh Educational Institute (Deemed University) at Agra, deployed Microsoft Kinect Sensor technology for their Final Year project on Gesture Recognition under the guidance of Prof. C. Patvardhan of the Faculty of Engineering. The project involved recognizing human gestures via mathematical algorithms which use the inputs provided by Kinect sensor and result in dynamic on-screen typing. The project provisions for error corrections too and the gestures are so designed such that the gestures for bi-grams and tri-grams are not similar.

Integrating the Cloud Computing Curriculum along with Lab Component on Azure with the Virtualization Course at India’s Largest Private University
Mr. Nitin Kumar from the School of Computer Science Engineering designed the curriculum contents of the Virtualization and Cloud Computing Course for both their graduate and post graduate students. The course starts with the basics of virtualization and then builds on the virtual datacenter and then different techniques and areas where virtualization is used and then moves onto Cloud Computing starting from the basics to the advanced topics.

Graduate Students at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology Use Cloud Computing to Gain Real-World Application Development and Deployment Skills
Mounir Hamdi, Department Head and Chair Professor at HKUST-CSE, is an Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Fellow who has been recognized for his contributions to the design and analysis of high-speed packet switching. Together with Assistant Professor Lin Gu and Associate Professor Lei Chen, Hamdi recently designed an advanced graduate level course focused on the organization of cloud computing systems and related survey research problems.
