Call for white papers

Call for white papers: Innovation in education technology
Microsoft and Innovate have issued a call for white papers highlighting innovative uses of Microsoft technology in higher education. Innovate is the journal of online education published by the Fischler School of Education and Human Services at Nova Southeastern University.
The white papers will illustrate how Microsoft technology can enhance, extend, and in some cases replace traditional teaching, administrative, or research methods. The goal is to help educators and administrators better understand the benefits of technology in education and how to integrate it into their teaching methods and processes.
Early submissions have highlighted successes with the collaboration features of the 2007 Microsoft Office system and the capabilities offered by SharePoint Server and PerformancePoint Server. Successful papers describe how institutions have added new tools for students and teachers through the integration of Microsoft Office Live Workspace and Live@edu, for example. Other authors have talked about how they have used existing features in single applications, such as Excel, that are especially useful in academic settings.
Publication and author recognition
Selected papers will be featured on the Microsoft Higher Education Web site, and authors will receive acknowledgement from Microsoft for their work as innovative instructors, students, or administrators. A collection of outstanding papers will be featured on the Innovate Web site as peer-reviewed, edited articles. The senior authors of the top three papers will be invited to attend the Microsoft Global Exchange summit in July 2009 to make a brief presentation of their paper. All related expenses will be paid by Microsoft.
How to submit white papers
Instructors, students, and staff members at colleges and universities are encouraged to review the style and publication guidelines for Innovate before making a submission. Manuscripts should be submitted directly to the managing editor.
