First graders feel the pride of publishing as they create an alphabet book of their very own. The students use the Internet and a field trip to the zoo to learn about animals. They brainstorm about animals that start with different letters of the alphabet and create a class alphabet book and presentation showcasing the animals they studied.

“I decided to use technology in this project because it is much more motivating for students to view live animals on the Internet than just pictures in a book... Because the students are more excited, they do a better job with the project.”

Nancy Hodges, Lincoln Elementary
