Batter Up!
Updated: April 6, 2004
After completing a unit on fractions and decimals, students apply their knowledge to study the game of baseball. They compute batting averages and hitting percentages and participate in a simulated baseball game through a distance learning videoconference with The National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, New York. Using the knowledge they’ve gained, students research players and then create their own baseball cards.
“I love baseball – and now I can calculate my teammates’ batting averages!”
