Fun Along Interstate 40
Updated: April 6, 2004
Interstate 40 traverses the United States from North Carolina to California, crossing eight states and six major landforms. Students relate geographical features of this route (specifically landforms and regions) to places of cultural interest. In doing so, they integrate social studies with math, music, technology, and language arts.
“...students have made connections between specific places of interest in the United States and geographical regions and landforms...Completion of this project has definitely sparked an interest in travel for many of the students.”
Lynne Garcia, Elmhurst Elementary
