Ramon Demelbauer
Vice President, Enterprise Services,
Microsoft EMEA
Ramon Demelbauer joined Microsoft in November 2002 as vice president of Enterprise Services for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA). In this role, Ramon leads the EMEA Services headquarters and the Services field organisation (approximately 2,500 people, seven sub-regions, 52 sales locations and a total FY04 revenue of approximately $520 million). He is also responsible for the operational execution of Enterprise Services, which consists of two distinct entities — Premier and Microsoft Consulting Services (MCS) — for the region. Ramon is based at Microsoft’s EMEA headquarters in Paris.
Before joining Microsoft, Ramon was an executive partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) in EMEA. He joined PwC as partner in charge, SAP EMEA, in July 1996. In this role he focused on growing the practice and developing SAP skills and expertise as well as winning customers across EMEA. In two years the SAP practice grew profitably and gained approximately 1,300 consultants. In July 1998, Ramon was appointed partner in charge, technology solutions EMEA, a new area combining seamlessly ERP, IT/SI, application outsourcing, solution centres and a technology leadership group with a compelling value proposition for PwC’s customer base. This area accounted for approximately 65% of PwC’s consulting revenues in EMEA. To reinforce the importance of technology in the consulting business, Ramon became a member of PwC’s EMEA Executive Board at the beginning of 2001.
Ramon began his career at Electronic Data Systems (EDS) in Germany in October 1988. After gaining experience as project leader for strategic IT projects, SAP CoE manager and account manager for large international accounts, he became director of operations, Switzerland, in April of 1994. In this role he acted as a member of the Board of Directors of EDS (Schweiz) AG and was at the same time the deputy country manager for Switzerland. Between 1995 and 1996 Ramon drove the definition of new services and business areas resulting in a significant increase in revenues and delivery staff by approximately 50%. Ramon’s successes led the EDS German management board him to request that he move back to Germany to generate new business opportunities as director of strategic initiatives for the Central Business Unit and Europe. In this latter role, Ramon was a member of the Board of Directors in Germany.
Ramon holds a masters degree in computer science.
