Learn About Skills and Development

This section will provide you with information around the skills and training programmes that Microsoft offer to ensure that the workforce and population of Europe, the Middle East, and Africa is adequately e-skilled for the future.

Working with government, industry, and NGO partners across Europe we are investing in a comprehensive approach to skills training partnerships that aim to support and assist:

Today and tomorrow’s IT professionals — by supporting universities and training colleges across Europe to provide first-class IT diploma and degree education on the latest technologies.
Microsoft IT Academy

The Microsoft IT Academy programme, which supports accredited academic institutions to provide students with a premium education on the latest Microsoft technologies through academic education tracks, rigorous Microsoft certification exams, and training for IT-related career opportunities. To date we have established IT Academy agreements with more than 2,000 institutions throughout Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. More than half a million individuals have benefited from this program.

Tomorrow’s European knowledge workers — by bringing IT skills into the mainstream of schools curricula with an emphasis on support and training for teachers, students, and their communities.
Partners in Learning

The Partners in Learning programme, which supports primary and secondary schools to increase access to technology and skills by providing software, IT lessons, refurbished PCs, and helping to expand teacher training. To date we have signed Partners in Learning memoranda of understanding with 22 EU governments and offer support to more than half a million teachers across Europe.

Today’s untapped work force — to gain basic IT skills for work and life through local community IT training centres.
Unlimited Potential

The Unlimited Potential programme, which supports community technology centres with software, curriculum, refurbished PCs, and training grants to provide IT skills training for the unemployed, people with disabilities, the elderly and refugees; as well as train a new generation of community trainers. So far we have provided support to more than 2,000 community technology centres in all parts of the EU25, and provided skills training for more than 200,000 people.
