Microsoft has made Open access to data part of its Interoperability strategy, enabling governments to unlock data from heterogeneous repositories and make it available in a flexible spectrum of e-government services. European Open Government Data Initiative www.govdata.eu is a free, open-source collection of software assets for Government organizations to upload, publish and store open data into the Microsoft Cloud – combined with an Open API enabling developers to Reuse Data with a wide variety of development languages e.g. .NET, PHP, Ruby, Python etc.
