From
the Editor It’s with great pleasure that I
introduce this first newsletter to all those who
have signed up for the Beta Experience over the
last 6 weeks. With more than 60.000 people
registered, the Experience is already a huge
success and the daily registration trend is still
very strong. So a big thanks to all of you eager
to get your hands on Visual Studio 2005 Beta 2,
SQL Server 2005 Standard CTP and the WeFly247
training DVD. These huge numbers really
motivate us to put a lot of valuable information
into these newsletters we’re sending out on a six
weekly basis until the product ships. Each
newsletter will have a theme and while this
edition introduces the Beta Experience and Visual
Studio 2005, the next ones will dive deeper into
areas like Visual Studio Team System, Visual
Studio Tools for Office, ASP.NET, migration from
earlier versions and much more information to help
beginning and experienced developers get started
with Visual Studio 2005 Beta 2. We are
especially happy to include content from people
from the Product Teams themselves, so who better
to welcome you to the Experience than S.
Somasegar, the Corporate Vice President who leads
the development division that produces Visual
Studio. Welcoming
message by S. Somasegar (8 MB) Hans
Verbeeck, Developer & Platforms Group,
Microsoft EMEA Beta Experience Team
