Welcome to the virtual press room for Microsoft GLF Europe 2007, taking place in Edinburgh 30-31 January. The Government Leaders Forum — Europe is an exceptional opportunity to bring together leaders to exchange experiences and discuss issues related to the future of Europe, as well as to examine the role that information and communications technology (ICT) plays in achieving success in this area. The theme, "Engaging Citizens to Meet 21st Century Challenges – Mapping the Way Ahead," will examine the citizen-government connections required to achieve European sustainability. Addressed through interactive panel discussions, visioning workshops, and keynote presentations, the Forum will study how central, local and regional governments are dealing with the challenges related to capitalising on its greatest resource: Europe’s citizens.
