Last Month, Microsoft celebrated the launch of its BizSpark programme in the Republic of Belarus, at the country’s National Library. The BizSpark program will support and encourage Belarus’ most promising entrepreneurs with fast and easy access to current full-featured Microsoft development tools and production licenses of server products with no upfront costs and minimal requirements. The select start-ups will also receive professional support from Microsoft, as well as community-driven support from Network Partners, active organisations in the entrepreneurial space, who can provide guidance, mentorship and resources to start-ups.

The launch event was attended by more than 70 representatives from different companies, all of whom are potential candidates for the program, as well as a select group of media including two regional broadcast channels. The event was supported by Microsoft Belarus’ partner, Park of High Technologies, a company whose ideologies complement that of Microsoft’s, and aim to foster adoption of new technologies in the region and attract international investors to the field.

The launch of the BizSpark program further highlights Microsoft’s continued investment and commitment to the Belarus region, and aims to accelerate the success of early stage start-ups from the country, thus helping to cultivate an already growing and successful economy.

Valeriy Tsepkalo, Director, Park of High Technologies, Belarus :
“We think that the launch of Microsoft BizSpark is a very important event for Belarus start ups that do the software development. It is the first joint project of the Park of High Technologies and Microsoft that is done for the high technology companies. Over half of the companies that are the residents of the Park of High Technologies are newly created, in other words over 30 companies that have just started working will get an opportunity to use the cutting edge technologies and receive the expert technical support from Microsoft and its partners. Along with the government support that is received by the Park of High Technologies it will be a solid base for development of the young companies. Without startups support the world would have never seen many of the modern computer giants.”
