Microsoft Malta wins at the European Business Awards in Rome

Microsoft Malta has won the award for ICT effectiveness for its SmartWomen project at this year’s European Business Awards, highlighting Microsoft’s ongoing commitment to the region and improving the local economy. SmartWomen, which is run in partnership with the Ministry for Communications and National Projects in Malta, is a project which is aimed at increasing the employability of women through the offering of a number of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) certification programmes.

The European Business Awards, which took place this year in Rome, are designed to recognise and promote excellence, best practise and innovation in the European business community. The awards are run in line with the broad aims of the European Union and business representative groups across the member states, and highlight the achievements of individuals or organisations across a variety of disciplines.

This is a signal award for the Microsoft Malta citizenship programme. Led by Fiorella Ellul Sullivan, we have spent the last 5 years working an active and diverse CSR programme. I believe that it also reflects the singular contribution Microsoft makes within the local communities it is present within, no matter the size or location.
