The Joy of Writing Code in Visual Studio 2010 (Karen Liu)
Do you often wish there was an easier way to find and navigate to a type in your code? Or that the IDE would let you consume an API when it doesn't exist and take care of "setting up" the code? Join Karen Liu, Lead Program Manager of the Visual C# and Visual Basic IDEs, as we take a look at the new IDE features in Visual Studio 2010 that are designed to make you more productive in a number of areas in the development lifecycle. This talk will focus on Visual C# and Visual Basic and describe what's coming next in Visual Studio, including better navigation, tools for understanding code and a focus on consume-first development.

Communities

Why do delegates come back year on year? The community is a major reason. Nowhere else in EMEA can you find the wealth of ideas, solutions and buzz. Tech·Ed EMEA Developers joins together thousands of your peers, product experts, top speakers, exhibitors and Microsoft Staff and offers many ways to connect:

Community Stage

Situated at the heart of the Exhibition Hall, the Community stage offers the perfect opportunity to relax and network with some of the most influential community members who represent Microsoft MVPs, INETA and other community groups. Watch the dynamic panel discussions, win some swag and cheer on your favourite in the Speaker Idol competition.

RoboChamps

RoboChamps is a robotics programming league that removes those barriers to entry and makes robotics available to a broad audience. RoboChamps is based in simulation, which removes the barriers to entry of availability, cost, and deep hardware knowledge. RoboChamps is more specifically built on top of the simulation functionality provided in Microsoft Robotics Developer Studio 2008, which means that participants can program their robots using the .NET languages they are already
familiar with.

RoboChamps will be hosting its 2008 World Finals at Tech·Ed EMEA Developers. Sponsored by KIA, the finals will have participants programming and competing with real robots for great prizes. Stop by the booth 19a for more details.
