Registration Terms and Conditions
By registering for Tech·Ed EMEA 2008 IT Professionals you agree to the
following Terms and Conditions:
General
- Registration for Tech·Ed EMEA 2008 IT Professionals is not considered
confirmed until payment has been received in full.
- All payments must include Spanish VAT at 16%. (Attendees from
NATO/European Commission or delegates who fall under the Spanish
reverse charge mechanism are exempt from VAT.)
- All invoicing and VAT related issues must be notified to the
Registration Office by 28th February 2009 at the very latest.
- All payments must be made in Euro.
- Once payment has been received a tax invoice will be sent to you by
the Registration Office. No admittance to the conference will be
granted without payment being received in full.
- Payment is due immediately.
- Lost delegate badges will incur a replacement fee.
- You will be required to produce relevant Government issued photo
identification (passport, driving license or national ID card) when
collecting badges onsite; as well as obtaining replacement delegate
badges.
- By accepting these Terms & Conditions, you authorize the events
team to contact you or your designated representative regarding the
status of your registration and / or relevant event information.
Super Early Bird Registrations
- All Super Early Bird registrations must be received and paid in full
by 31 July 2008.
- Microsoft (or affiliated representatives) reserves the right to
alter the benefits associated with the Super Early Bird
registrations at any time.
- Availability of benefits is subject to change at the discretion of
the event organizers. Benefits are available on a first come first
served basis and subject to onsite terms and conditions set out by
the organizers.
Early Bird Registrations
- For all Early Bird registrations, payment must be received by
26 September 2008.
Cancellations
- Cancellations up to 14 days before the event will be charged an
administration fee of €125.00 + 16% VAT. Cancellations after this date,
as well as ‘no shows’, will be liable for the FULL registration fee.
- Should Microsoft cancel Tech·Ed EMEA 2008 IT Professionals, paid
registered delegates will be refunded their registration fee only.
No other costs will be refunded.
Substitutions
- Substitutions between attendees from the same company and at the same
invoice address may be made by providing the Microsoft Registration
Office with written notice of the name of the original delegate and full
details of the substitute registrant.
- Substitutions can be made at any time leading up to the event,
including at onsite registration on Sunday 2 and Monday 3 November
2008. Substitutions after 3 November 2008 will not be admitted to
Tech·Ed EMEA 2008 IT Professionals.
- Substitutions will not incur any additional charges.
- Please notify the registration office of any
cancellations/substitutions in writing by one of the following

Group Registrations
- A Group Registration can only be made for a single company address in
a single country.
- No recourse on Group Registration is allowed - if a company makes a
Group Registration and then registers an additional delegate, this
will be treated as a separate booking and will not qualify for a
discounted rate or move the entire Group Registration into a higher
discount bracket.
- Where a cancellation is made, an administration fee of €125.00 +
16% VAT will be made for each paid member of the group that cancels
their registration.
- In the event that a Group Registration discount has been awarded to
a company and that one or more registrations is subsequently
cancelled; the overall registration fee may be taken into a lower
discount bracket. In such cases the refunded registration fee will
be paid net of the group's revised discount plus cancellation fee.
- Should the cancellation of a Group Registration member be made
within 14 days of the event no refund will be payable.

registration within the group booking will be complimentary.

- Discounts on Group Registration are calculated automatically and are
only applied to standard Early Bird and Full Price Delegate
registrations.
- Group Registration discounts can not be awarded in association with
any other discount. They are available for delegate registrations
with or without a registration code but are not open to any
registrations made by Microsoft Staff.
Multiple Event Bookings
- In the event you register for both Tech·Ed EMEA 2008 IT Professionals
AND Tech·Ed EMEA 2008 Developers at either the standard Early Bird or
full price rate will qualify for a discounted registration fee.
- You will qualify for a 30% discount off the second
event when registering for both events.
- The registrations MUST BE MADE AT THE SAME TIME –
no recourse on multiple event booking discount is allowed if
registrations are not made at the same time.

- Cancellations up to 14 days before the event will be charged an

- In the event that a registered delegate for both stated events cancels
either registration, then the discount awarded to the second event
registration will be cancelled and deducted from the refunded
registration fee of the cancelled registration. If the registration is
not paid on time, a new pro-forma invoice will be issued for the single
event without the Multiple Event Registration discount.
- Delegates cannot transfer their Multiple Event Registration to a
colleague for one of the events only. The Multiple Event Registration
requires that the delegate must register onsite in Barcelona for BOTH
events.
- However substitutions may be made for the full Multiple Event
Registration: ONE person can be substituted for BOTH events. For more
details on the Substitution process please refer to the above paragraph
regarding Substitutions.
- If a colleague substitutes the second event only, the substitute will
need to pay back the discount which the original attendee obtained.
Intellectual property
- Materials provided by Microsoft remain the intellectual property of
Microsoft Corporation and its partners, who assert their right to
worldwide copyright unless specifically agreed otherwise in writing.
- The recording by any means of any conference sessions at Tech·Ed
EMEA IT Professionals by delegates and/or third parties is strictly
prohibited.
- You consent to Microsoft (or its designees who have been
specifically employed by Microsoft to make on-site recordings)
recording you by any means including, without limitation, electronic
recording, film, videotape, audio tape and photography (the
“Recordings”) without compensation of any kind to you. You agree
that Microsoft shall be the copyright owner of the Recordings. You
understand that Microsoft is not obligated to use the Recordings.
- To the best of your knowledge, your acts and statements contained
in the Recordings will not violate any right of any other person or
company.
- You release Microsoft from any claims and causes of action you may
have now or in the future based upon defamation, invasion of right
of privacy, publicity or personality, copyright or trademark
infringement and unfair competition in connection with the
Recordings and Microsoft’s use of the Recordings and you agree not
to institute any legal action based on any of the grounds specific
in this section.
- All the rights granted to Microsoft by you hereunder are
irrevocable and perpetual, and you waive all rights to any equitable
relief in connection with herewith.
Force majeure
- In the event that Microsoft is prevented from carrying out its
obligations as a result of any cause beyond its control, such as but not
limited to acts of God, war, acts of terrorism, airline flight
cancellations, strikes, lock-outs, flood and failure of third parties to
deliver goods or services, Microsoft shall be relieved of its
obligations and liabilities for as long as fulfilment is prevented.
Data protection
- Microsoft does not sell, trade or rent your personal information to
others.
- By registering for Tech·Ed EMEA 2008 IT Professionals you give Microsoft
permission to contact you regarding your attendance at the event.
- The contact information supplied during registration will only be
used to send you relevant event related information.
- Information you provide during registration will be used by
Microsoft for the purposes of assessing the technology requirements
and areas of interest of attending individuals and companies.
Privacy
- Microsoft’s
Privacy Statement is attached to these Terms and Conditions. By
agreeing to these Terms and Conditions you also give your consent to the
way we may handle your personal information under that Privacy
Statement.
Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability
- Microsoft does not, and nothing in these Terms and Conditions shall
act to, exclude or limit Microsoft’s liability for death or personal
injury resulting from its negligence, fraud or any other liability which
may not by applicable law be excluded or limited.
Governing law
- These Terms and Conditions are governed by English law and are subject
to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
- The Tech·Ed EMEA 2008 IT Professionals conference is hosted by Microsoft
who reserves the right, in their sole discretion, to limit or deny
access to the conference to any entity or individual.
- Microsoft’s receipt of an application and/or payment does not
constitute acceptance. Application and payments that are not
accepted will be returned.
You must accept these terms and conditions to
complete your registration for and attend Tech·Ed EMEA 2008 IT Professionals in
Barcelona.
