      This package is an add-on for Visual Studio® 2010 SP1 to provide tooling for Microsoft® Silverlight® 5 and Microsoft® WCF RIA Services V1.0 SP2 . It can be installed on top of either Visual Studio® 2010 SP1 or Visual Web Developer 2010 Express Service Pack 1. It extends existing Microsoft® Silverlight® 4 features and multitargeting capabilities in Visual Studio® 2010 SP1 to also create applications for Microsoft® Silverlight® 5 using C# or Visual Basic.

      This download will install all components necessary for Microsoft® Silverlight® 5 and Microsoft® WCF RIA Services V1.0 SP2 development:
      • Silverlight 5 Developer Runtime
      • Silverlight 5 SDK (software development kit)
      • Update for Visual Studio 2010 Service Pack 1 and Visual Web Developer Express 2010 Service Pack 1 (KB2502836)
      • Microsoft WCF RIA Services V1.0 SP2

    Windows 7, Windows Server 2003 R2 (32-Bit x86), Windows Server 2008

      • Visual Studio Requirements:
        • Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Service Pack 1 with the Visual Web Developer feature
        • Microsoft Visual Web Developer 2010 Express Service Pack 1
    • Before installing Microsoft® Silverlight® 5 Tools for Visual Studio® 2010 SP1, you must:
      • Install Visual Web Developer 2010 Express RTM followed by Visual Studio® 2010 SP1.


      • OR
      • Install Visual Studio® 2010 RTM followed by Visual Studio® 2010 SP1. You can install Visual Studio® 2010 SP1 here.

      Note:
      • This tools package will not work with the Visual Studio® 2010 RTM releases.


      Follow these steps if you would like to continue using the Windows Phone 7 Developer Tools RTW
      1. Install Visual Studio® 2010 RTM or Install Visual Web Developer 2010 Express RTM
      2. Install Windows Phone Developer Tools RTW
      3. Install Visual Studio 2010 Service Pack 1
      4. Install the Microsoft® Silverlight® 5 Tools for Visual Studio® 2010 SP1


      Uninstall the Silverlight 5 RC Tools Update

      If you wish to remove Microsoft® Silverlight® 5 and Microsoft® Silverlight® 5 Tools for Visual Studio® 2010 SP1 update from your computer, you must manually remove the components that were installed:
      • Microsoft® Silverlight® 5 Developer Runtime
      • Microsoft® Silverlight® 5 SDK
      • Update for Visual Studio® 2010 (KB2502836)
      • WCF RIA Services V1.0 SP2
